Location: Kesh, Co Fermanagh

This listed, pre-famine, two storey vernacular house with outbuildings fell into disrepair a generation ago.  The present owner embarked upon a scheme of restoration to repair the house using traditional materials and techniques, but incorporating sustainable technologies and methods to reduce his carbon footprint.

The Practice provided a full survey and design service from inception to design, prepared a detailed conservation specification, administered the tendering process and undertook the management of the site works.  Work included the conservation of the main farm house and restoration of the byres, including the provision of a green roof, geothermal heating, off-mains well water treatment, together with limecrete floors and wall finishes.
